Cement Industry: Drive Gear Diagnostics
At one Polish cement plant, high vibration amplitudes were noted on the gears driving the lime kiln. The problem appeared suddenly without any apparent reason and then disappeared just as suddenly. The vibration level monitoring system installed at the plant did not provide any signal analysis. Assistance came with the HEV-i monitor-recorder. Due to the lack of communication infrastructure, data was collected on a built-in memory card. Installed in winter on a gearbox housing operating outdoors, the HEV-i confirmed its adequate preparation for continuous operation in extremely harsh conditions.
